MULTI-ENGINE RATING

Sometimes two are better than one, especially in airplanes. Learning to fly a multi-engine aircraft or “twin” brings about a new dimension and set of skills for the pilot. This course prepares you to take control of two engines.
A multi-engine rating is a key step in the process of becoming an airline pilot.
Train in our advanced turbocharged Seneca III and Seneca V – surely the best-equipped multi-engine trainers around. From advanced avionics to handling turbochargers, TCAS, de-icing equipment and other advanced systems – they challenge you to become a much more competent pilot on this complex aircraft.

The course includes such topics as multi-engine ground school, basic ground handling and circuits, basic and advanced airwork, in-flight emergencies, incl. full engine shut-down in flight, optional: night flying.

There’s no written examination required. And after the multi-engine course by our experienced instructors, the flight test will be a piece of cake! The rating is valid for life and does not require regular renewals.

Program Admission Requirement

IFR RATING: SINGLE OR MULTI

A requirement for career pilots, and highly recommended for leisure aviators. Expand your skills in a single or multi-engine aircraft by learning instrument procedures and how to get to your destination safely during various weather conditions.
A good pilot will never get caught, but learning how to fly IFR (instrument flight rules) will offer you a measure of safety that one day, you’ll be happy you have. Designed for either single or multi-engine aircraft, the IFR course teaches you how to fly under instrument flying rules – departure procedures, en route, and arrival procedures. The multi-engine component adds complexity and increases safety. It is essential for career pilots and highly recommended for leisure aviators.
Our Seneca III and Seneca V are surely the best-equipped multi- and IFR trainers around, and we lovingly call them “Baby Airliners”. With the single-engine service ceiling of 18,000 feet, they give you the freedom of going anywhere on the continent, incl. IFR trips over the Rockies. Equipped with WAAS Garmin 430, 530, storm scope, T-CAS, weather radar, built-in oxygen system, auto-pilot, de-icing and air conditioning for hot summer days – it just does not brew you coffee.
